The Correct Way to Apply Blusherer Or Rouge

Selecting a flattering shade of blusher will give the best results. Before you start using blusherer, find a shade that suits you. People in the know say that the best blusher shade is one that matches your cheeks when you're looking a little flushed (like after exercising). Try pinching your cheeks to see what color they become! (A little weird, but it works!) So try to buy a shade that matches this and your lip color closely. A blusher which is rose in color is perfect for fairer skinned women. A peach-colored blusher is perfect if your complexion is olive. And if you have darker skin, choose red blusher.
 
Choose the correct kind of blusher. Once you have the right shade, you need to pick which type of blusher works best for you. Both powder and cream forms can be found. For oily skin, go with a powder blusher. If you have dry skin, using a cream blusher will add a fresher glow to your skin.
 
Timing is important when applying blush. Before you apply blusher, make sure that you have completed your base (foundation), eyes and lip color. Blusher should be applied right at the end of your makeup, second last only to a quick coat of powder.

Be aware that blusher is actually a stain, so it will color your skin. It will stay on your face until you clean it off with water. If you apply blusher correctly the first time you won't have to spend the time to do it again. Cleaning the brush is a good habit to get into - wipes work great for that. This will remove any bacteria and grime that could transfer to your skin when you apply blusher.
